It was another very hot day and we had things to organise so our happy campers were 'at leisure' until we got together for a walk around the village and a few drinks at Stathmos.
We had a lazy morning and then set off down to Latchi to book the boat that Laura and Mark want to take out whilst they are here. We decided to stop at Venetico for a shared brunch and managed to get a table under the shade which was quite unusual as it was lunch time and normally these tables are taken. We think we know the reason why. There are new menus and the prices have shot up. I always thought that the Cyprus Breakfast was a bargain but now it has increased by about 30% and is €10 which is a massive increase. I know things are going up everywhere but it is, after all, breakfast. Gone are the days when we used to be able to get a full fry-up for €2.50!
We shared a chicken wrap and chips and a bottle of water. We don't think this has increased in price or if it has not noticeably so. We only wanted something light anyway as today we wanted to try and curb our food intake because we are beginning to feel rather porky with all the eating out. Tomorrow it is a full-on Farmyard Sunday Lunch!
We then went down to Latchi Watersports and booked the exact boat that Laura had wanted and we will have an early start on that day as we need to be down to the office by 8.30am!!
We assembled at the Corner House at 5pm. It was still very warm when we went on a wander around the village and stopped at the little soap shop. It is such a lovely little shop and the soaps and creams are lovely and bearing in mind they are quite unique not overly priced. This time we got to try loads of samples. I can thoroughly recommend the face mister and the handbag sized roll-on for headaches. Janet bought some deodorant cream - I am keen to see what she thinks of that.
We found a shady table at Stathmos to grab a couple of well earned drinks although I think Jackie and Janet were somewhat surprised by the size of the gin in their glass thinking that it also included some tonic which it did not!!! It was quite busy even though it was early and we tried to persuade Stan to try out the local barber as Christakis arrived around 6pm to put in a shift.

Our lovely neighbours Pam and George arrived having walked down for some supper. I know that Stathmos is one of George's favourite places to eat and he has been frequenting this establishment for years. Somewhere I have a picture of him and Bambos dancing together and I remember going there for a meal years ago when there was dancing on and Pam and I got up - not realising that Pam was nursing a poorly knee! I bet it is on the blog somewhere - probably about 10 years ago! Anyway we are all going to go round and have a drink with them tomorrow evening which will be a surprise for Argy and Lakis who have also been invited but dont think we will be there.
We ended the evening back at the Corner House sat out in the Courtyard under the huge gazebo with some drinks and nibbles. It was perfect there - with the residual warmth coming off of the surrounding walls and buildings and the light of a full moon above us. So far this has been a really good choice of place for JJ&S to stay.
