Today after an enforced coronavirus hiatus we finally got to meet up with Linda and Graham once again. We met this lovely couple through my cousin Michelle. Michelle was their veterinary nurse who eased the passage of Linda and Graham's beloved cat over the Rainbow Bridge. They are great friends to Michelle and previously had contemplated moving to Cyprus - pre Brexit and the Ukraine War and Boris's sacking. Since then the world has gone mad and these plans are currently maybe even permanently on hold.Anyway despite a little detour around the village they managed to find our house and we decided to go have a wander around the village starting with a spot of lunch at Kaponas. Then we walked back down through the village to show them where The Crew had stayed. As we headed down through the village we suddenly came across five little pair of eyes staring at us. Five tiny kittens emerged out of the garden of a house that we thought was empty - we could be wrong. The kittens looked to be reasonably healthy and they are just up the road from Mick and Ali so hopefully they might be keeping an eye on them and hopefully they have the sense not to wander on to the main road but to turn left and go down towards the back of the cemetery. We learned today that the lovely mum cat that has lived at Finikas in the village for years was knocked over and killed by a car speeding through the village.
Anyway we carried on walking down through the village pointing out various houses and where we go and pick up our post before deciding on going for a drink in Finikas as it was getting rather warm.
It was lovely sitting in the dappled shade catching up on all that had happened over the last 3 years - sad to hear of people's passing in the interim, sad to know that we will never get that time back.
Linda and Graham come back out next spring and we shall see them again hopefully - I think today's little wander around reinforced Graham's wish to have some sort of bolt hole over here if it is possible.
Funny when they came before there were loads of houses on our estate up for sale and now there are only 4 which are unoccupied and they all have issues for any potential buyers. They even asked about Skrimmers house but I reckon after being empty for the best part of 10 years and now being colonised by pigeons it will be a labour of love to get it back up to something like a nice home even if you can manage to find the owners to buy it.
We returned home for a cup of tea - we have yet to pack away the Christmas Decorations from our Christmas Day last Sunday - Linda had promised to get a snap of us around the Christmas Tree for Michelle so that is what we did before we said goodbye till the next time!
Safe travels Linda and Graham until next time
