I had a bit of resistance when I tried to make the bed this morning. Mr Boo was holding on to his second blinky and didn't want it moved. We call this his 'to Infinity and Beyond' position. He looks so comfortable. He has wrecked the throw to be fair as it is now covered in pulls and hitches but he is happy and he is home so that is fine.
We were the beneficiaries of the contents of Jan and Derek's fridge today bless them. Jan managed to get her bills paid up at the community office and we managed to get them and their luggage in the car and down to the airport in good time. It wasn't too busy and hopefully they went off on time as Jan has an overnight stay at the airport before jetting off to see her daughter and Derek a long coach trip back to the North East. They will be back in the Spring and we shall look forward to seeing them again. In the meantime Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
We had invited Jane and John up this afternoon to go for a walk around the village and then to have a meze in Finikas. Both Jane and John were keen walkers but after a hip operation and a carpal tunnel operation John has not been walking much of late so we had chosen a flat-ish, short-ish meander around Inea and Droushia before eating.
It was a lovely evening with bright sunshine - we knew that would mean that once the sun had set it was going to be chilly, in fact it turned out to be the coldest night in Droushia so far with temperatures into single figures but we were lucky because we did out walk, visited the cemetery to visit Dad (Ronnie) and then ducked into the hotel because we were a bit early to eat and it was lovely and warm in there.
The hotel has started to put up its Christmas Decorations. The Manager Irene was explaining that because of a number of functions over the festive season they had adopted a rather more pared down display than normal and we liked the simple approach.
Sorry about the slightly out of focus photograph but I was excited that Philippos had lit the fire in the taverna and it had obviously been going a while because it was actually toasty warm in there and we had expected it to be cold. We were all still in our shorts and it didn't matter!!! The food was lovely as always but we didn't really do it justice so I had a catty bag to bring home for Charlie who must have got the brief because he was ready and waiting on our return!!!
