Today John and I went walking this morning - my legs were pretty tired from yesterday but no pain no gain apparently!!! The day started brightly enough but during the afternoon clouded over and got quite chilly. Part way through out walk we called into the cemetery. We haven't been for a few days and we like to check everything is ok and that the plants have water. Two of the newer graves in front of the row where Dad is buried have had new marble surrounds and headstones so it is now looking quite tidy. John has been watching a video on tintyweb about the lettering which we keep saying we need to reblack - apparently the best way is to do it with black grout so we will be investigating that approach.
All was good, we watered Dad's plants, made sure that Elena's grave looked ok and went and paid our respects to Les and to David. We are uncertain what will happen to the grave directly in front of Dad which is his friend Arthur. Arthur was married to Janet but Mum seems to think that she is unwell and we know that Arthur had at least one son so hopefully when the time is right there will be something permanent there.
Mystery still surrounds what has happened to Sue Westhead. Her husband's grave appears to be still untouched so it would seem that the authorities still haven't sorted out where she is to be buried which is really sad. Just goes to show how important it is that there is someone who knows what your wishes are and where any paperwork might be.
We met a smashing little chap on our walk round. He was asleep in a boat outside one of the houses at Lordos II and I disturbed him so he came to say hello. He was lovely and a similar colour to Boris although with a lot more white around him. We left him alone to go back to sleep in the sun.
It was on the edge of the metal container that I have for growing a few herbs and veggies. I am experimenting growing a carrot from the top sprouting and I have sewn a few seeds for late lettuce and rocket. A small packet of English rocket in Paps was a hefty €4.55 which is ridiculous.
The girlies on the estate were going out today and Nicky had invited her friend Fiona to join us. I was in a right quandary as to what to wear - last time we went it was like monsoon conditions. Today it had, as I said, started out bright and sunny but by the time we were due to leave it had clouded over so layers were the order of the day.
We walked up to Kaponas. It is the nearest place to go and the food good and reasonably priced and, for those who like, does the best lamb chops apparently!
Here we are (I took the photo) awaiting the delivery of our food. It does look a little bit chilly but actually it wasn't too bad really. I think everyone enjoyed themselves - if nothing else it is a nice opportunity to have a chin wag - even though we live in the same estate (save for Fiona front right) we don't always see much of each other! It is particularly nice to see that Ellen likes to come along - she is great company even though she thinks she is too old to come with us!!!
I didn't have the lamb chops - I had moussaka - it was lovely but enormous!!!
We finished the final season of Game of Thrones. Sorry but I thought it was a massive disappointment - the battles scenes went on far too long!!!
