The heavens opened overnight and it was off and on all day. It was grey and chilly. Both Nicky and I wimped out on going for a walk. It was a wise decision as it was pouring right at the time we would have been out.
Some of the Lordos Ladies were getting together for a lunch in the village. Sadly B couldn't make it - she has a cold and didn't want to pass it on and to be fair I don't think any of us wanted a cold this close to Christmas.
We walked up to the village and the taverna which is opposite the School, Kaponas. We managed to make it there just before there was another major storm. We had a lovely catch up and really lovely meal and bless Eleni she presented us with a Christmas Card and a gift on our departure. The food was amazing as always - John will be having sheftalia sandwiches for lunch tomorrow because try as I might I cannot manage to eat five along with a mountain of chips and salad!!! We also had cheesecake as a pud - I needed John there because he loves cheesecake and I am not really a sweet eater. We even managed to walk home in the dry.
We had a lovely relaxed quiet evening watching the remaining three episodes of The English which I thought was absolutely excellent. In fact I was quite emotional at the end - I didn't really want it to finish and for some reason it made me want to watch The Elephant Man which I haven't seen in years. I am wondering if Yellowstone might be a good series to start now - we seem to be the only people not to have seen it.
