A pickleball reunion!

We had the day at home today and then we were going out out on an early Christmas Celebration with some of our old pickleball players.  We were going to the Farmyard to have a Thai Buffet and to hear Ben Mills singing which also meant that we would be supporting Rachel who has just returned from the UK.

Because we were eating out later we started the day with brunch - my signature dish of cheesy, creamy scrambled eggies and today they turned out absolutely first class!!!  Eggs and cream cooked for about a minute in the microwave and cheese folded in at the end put on crumpets.

After Brunch I turned my attention to our next Christmas Lunch.  We will be at Lilian's Sunday Week and I thought I would make Christmas Bags as I couldn't find a kit for making my own Christmas Crackers.  It is just a bit of fun - I managed to find some little gifts and jokes to put inside some small Christmas Bags - courtesy of Jumbos.

We decided to nip down to Paps in Polis to do a bit of shopping and redeem our loyalty points on some festive alcohol and nibbles.  It was an opportunity to try out the app again but I think I broke it as when we came to pay the till threw a wobbly but eventually we got a receipt which was about a mile long as every item had three entries.  It was correct and we got our discount.

Just thought people would like to see what our local supermarket looks like on 9th December on a Friday afternoon - it was such a pleasure to go shopping.

We are planning on taking Mum and Kaye to the Polis Christmas market tomorrow evening if the weather is ok - Kaye goes home on Sunday so it will be our last day with her and she is determined to eat outside.

We returned home for a bit of a chill out before getting ready for our big night out.  It had been a lovely day so much so that John and I both had a shower in the morning with water heated by the solar panels and then again in the afternoon - this is almost unheard of up here.  I do wish there was a way of knowing what the temperature of the water is in our tank - I am sure we put the immersion on when we don't need to but I don't like a lukewarm shower when I am expecting a hot one.

We had a fabulous evening.  This is me with Keith who used to play Pickleball - he had gone the whole Christmas hog wearing a festive t-shirt and a Christmas tree on his head.  I had rather more elegant snowflake deely boppers.  The food was excellent and the entertainment good.  Too much red wine though - thank goodness for our neighbour Richard who kindly took us and picked us back up.
