My new washing machine is being delivered on Saturday. John did his homework and we plumped for a Toshiba. The whole transaction took place on tintyweb using the chatbot to ask questions and get answers - it was all very painless and the chatbot turned out to be a guy called Alex who sorted everything out perfectly.
With the old machine out in the garden it gave us the opportunity to sort out the black hole in which it lived - this is now going to be a grey hole. We gave the floor a good clean and John added the missing bit of skirting board. He made a bigger hole in the cupboard so that the water pipe had more freedom and the back wall was painted grey - it will need a couple more coats but it will be cleaner and tidier. We need to do the same to where the fridge is located.
It was such a beautiful day that once we had done all our chores we decided to go down to the coast and take a walk in the sunshine. We parked at La Plage and walked in towards the harbour. The sea was a fabulous colour and calm as calm - people were actually swimming in the sea.
We haven't walked along this walkway for a while and so much has been done to tidy it up. The Children's play area by La Plage has all been modernised and the five a side footie pitch has been modernised and there was an enthusiastic game going on between half a dozen young lads. There is a fitness area and another sensory childrens play area and some funky seating areas.
This is a scary picture but this was to prove that we were both there in the sun sitting outside Coffee Island enjoying a very nice vanilla milkshake and commenting on the fact that we simply do not do this often enough. Ok we don't do it in the summer because we have to mingle with the great unwashed but how fabulous that in December the temperatures were in the low 20s and we could enjoy the harbour in relative peace and quiet.
It was a good opportunity for me to give the fridges a good clear out which led to us having a 'picky' tea which was what we had planned for Christmas Eve but never had it and it seemed a shame to see it going to waste - some of it might have been freezable but I am struggling for space in the freezer.
