Lovely Latchi

No bike ride for John today, instead we were spending it together which is unusual for a Thursday.  It was a warm day and we decided to go down to Latchi for a walk along the sea front to get some air and some exercise.  It is a lovely time of year as everything looks fresh and green.

It was quiet down on the coast, the recent inclement weather has probably put even the hardiest off of swimming and as we were walking along we could see a big black cloud coming across so we expected that we might get wet.  As it happens we didn't which was good as we had left our hoodies in the car.

We walked from La Plage down to the campsite.  There were a few people camping.  In fact I think there is a couple that splits their time between the UK and Cyprus who live at the campsite all the time that they are here.  Rather them than us - after the recent rain it was looking messy and soggy and I am not entirely sure what the 'facilities' are like.

The bar was open but we didn't stop for a drink as we were going out for supper with Gail and Pete to Kaponas for an early evening meal and we were both really looking forward to it and didn't want to spoil our appetites.

There is a new array of fitness equipment halfway along the path - what a beautiful view you get looking out across the sea.  John and I had a play on some of the pieces - I liked the walker that John was on but got in a bit of a muddle trying to get off of it much to the amusement of a passer by.

It is poppy time on the island - I love them - they add a vibrant splash of colour.  John isn't happy that we have so many coming up in the garden - particularly right outside the back door but I can't bring myself to pull them up, if they have taken the time and trouble to seed themselves then they deserve to put on a show, set some seed and do it all again next year!!

John got himself a little or actually not so little friend to play with on the way back.  This cat looked so much like our Chivers but was a girl and so lovely and friendly - it was well looked after and neutered and was joined by a similarly healthy looking black cat - we think they must belong to someone in one of the houses nearby.

It was nice to get out for a walk.  Tomorrow we have earmarked to nip down to Paphos for some DIY bits and pieces as I want to finally give the kitchen a lick of paint.

Our evening meal with Gail and Pete was lovely.  It was warm and cosy in Kaponas and the food did not disappoint - sadly the red wine went down to easily so I will pay for that tomorrow!
