Love it or hate it Social Media is an integral part of most peoples' lives and even if you hate it there are times when it comes into its own. This is the case regarding a lady (Sue Westhead) who used to come to our Droushia Ladies Lunches and who passed away about this time last year. Circumstances are such that she remains unburied as no living relative seems to have been found who can move things along with the authorities. We were contacted by someone in the UK who asked about her and who has tried to find out information that might help but this seemed to have stalled and then we were contacted by a guy who had been dealing with Sue's financial affairs. He had been trying to get in contact with her and of course got no-where but he found reference to her in my blog and then found John on Facebook and was then able to contact us. He is taking up the mantle and will try and get her buried with her husband at the very least. Fingers crossed he is able to bring things to a satisfactory conclusion - it has been too long.
Today I watched my crazy but lovely neighbour Jan trying to clean the windows of the 'room of doom' next door which wont have been touched for years and years. I blame her for the massive thunderstorm which settled above us later on today. I kept shouting at her not to jump that things couldn't be that bad - she told me not to be so sure!!!! Crazy woman! I really have to say we couldn't have asked for nicer neighbours than Jan and Derek - after 12 years of having no-one next door it was always a concern as to what might happen with that house.
We returned to Droushia and stopped for a drink at the Drousia Heights so Donna could see what it had to offer in case they decide to stay there in the future. We sat in the bar and had a drink. Interestingly it was no more expensive to drink a bottle of wine there than down at Molos although no more expensive it is expensive enough! Anyway it was all part and parcel of the extended birthday celebrations so no-one was counting.
We returned to our house for a little look around and a chat and a cuddle with the cats (Kirt and Donna are non-owning cat fanatics who spent part of his birthday at Tala Monastery Cats). It was a lovely afternoon and we hope that we helped in some way to make Kirt's special birthday, special.
