Today was a glorious day and I was down in Paphos on my normal Thursday with Mum. I called in to the MRI Centre to collect my results - they were all there neatly popped into a folder, the CD and the written narrative in English. My appointment with the consultant has been made for Saturday week as it is Easter here in Cyprus this weekend so I didn't expect him to be working. I have, of course, consulted Dr Google but am non the wiser but there are passages that would indicate that there are some issues that need addressing. I shall know in due course.
Anyway I took Mum shopping first to Lidl and then to Sports Direct where she was in search of a golfer's peak because her original one had broken. She is supposed to wear something to protect the skin on her face from the sun. The only ones in Sports Direct were made for someone with a head the size of Shrek's and were very expensive and she looked ridiculous. I suggested trying in Lemba Bazaar, Mum wasn't convinced and blow me we found exactly what she wanted for 5 euros!!
Lunch today was at St Georgio's which Mum likes and which she frequents with Lilian where they share a meal. This was to be my main meal of the day so I didn't want to share anything least of all meatballs so she agreed to take home with her what she did not eat and I ordered what they call Cypriot Tacos.
This is my meal - two Greek Pittas on which there was pork belly and fried eggs served with a rocket salad and some lovely chips. It was lovely but it was huge - if I had known I would have asked just to have one pitta as I had to waste the second one. Mum made a fair stab at her meatballs but took a couple home with her.
Back at Mum's, she is to have a new TV and a firestick provided by the guy who looks after her system. Her existing TV is quite old and the single HDMI connection is dodgy probably because she will shut everything down and pull everything out when there is the slightest glitch with the internet. Anyway I think this is a good idea but I needed to make a note of all the series and films I have added to her favourites as she will lose these.Tomorrow is Good Friday, I am planning on a bit of a cookathon but the tomatoes need to ripen a bit to develop their flavour. I have earmarked the kumquats (or as Rachel calls them the kumsquats) for a spicy chutney and to flavour some gin. We may be going to lunch with Gail and Pete providing Gail gets home safe and sound from the UK. Her flight is due very late so it will depend on whether she is feeling tired.
