Even with my operation and the excessive heat we have continued to try and keep a 'normal' routine for Mum because her friend Lilian is away and so we recognise that mum is spending more and more time on her own.  The only trouble is that we struggle in the humidity of Paphos at the best of times but currently me having to cope with a big fat foam sling is finding it unbearable.

We couldn't face eating out today so John had made a one pot slow cooker meal with some pork tenderloin and veggies and a cinnamon cake for pudding.  Both went down well.

Fortunately we had managed to solve the mystery of mum's non functioning TV system  which, despite protestations to the contrary, appears to have been caused by mum's insistence on rebooting and cable wiggling!  She had declared her new TV was broken and we would NOT be able to resolve it and she had phoned Richard her poor long suffering TV system provider to summon a visit.  This had to be hastily cancelled!

The photo is Mum and Freddo, her long suffering feline companion.  Freddo was a Cypriot Stray who adopted mum and dad.  Originally he was very much Dad's cat.  Since Dad's passing Freddo has become wise to the fact that it is Mum who feeds him so he has wheedled his way into her affection and his command of English has been expanded to include No Fred, Not Now Fred and Don't you Start which is all she seems to say to him even though she would be lost without him.  When she moans at him Fred returns to his Cypriot roots and dutifully ignores her!
