The upside to my recuperation is that I get to sleep in the guest bedroom. I get the aircon and peace from the cats. Normally I am up and down like a fiddler's elbow dealing with one or other of them whilst John is oblivious. Now the tables are turned and John is doing the night feeds.
Charlie had obviously had a very hard night on the tiles and was out sparko this morning having wedged his bulk into one of the tub chairs where he slept, legs akimbo looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. He doesn't look like the same cat that wreaks havoc throughout the night.
And this snoozing little sweetie is Miss Minnie. She has been quite poorly having either been attacked by another cat or having had a fall. For several days she has refused to eat and has been unable to climb up anywhere. There isn't much to her at the best if times so when she comes to eat but won't it is really very distressing. During the day you cannot touch her but at night and after breakfast all she wants is a cuddle from John. When she is poorly she goes quiet but when she is OK she is very vocal and she too has been contributing to John's disrupted sleep.
Last but by no means least of the Night Time Marauders is beautiful Boo (Boris) who is also very vocal we think that was as a result of being dumped anyway if you call him he will answer no matter how far away he is and call all the way back home. He also does this at the door when he wants to come in even though we have a cat flap.
So this morning as we hot up bleary eyed the Night Time Marauders were all three away with the fairies as we would have liked to have been!
