We spent quite some time trying to find Charlie today, he was nowhere to be seen and then appeared from nowhere thank goodness. When Chivers passed away he had been sick previously and then took himself off on a hot day and got stuck in a neighbouring garden and couldn't get out and became dehydrated and ingested something toxic and passed away at the vets - I didn't want history to repeat itself.
We spent the day keeping an eye on what was happening at the airports in the UK. Eventually Jan and Derek were lucky enough to get on board, stay on board and then take off albeit a couple of hours late. This meant that John had to set off for the airport at 10.00pm - way past our normal bed-time! Fortunately they were not badly held up getting through passport control and getting their bags but John did have to throw them in the car with their bags by stopping on one of the airport crossings and holding up everyone behind. It will be nice to have them back next door.
Mum had a lovely day today as Ellie, Andy and Jack went to pick her up and take her for lunch. She chose Baracas down by the sea which has a nice play area to keep Jack occupied. Ellie and Andy loved the venue and were astounded by the amount Mum ate - she had been before and had some rather odd pancake concoction which she had again today.
