There is so much workmanship in this bag - I know that Galatia likes to make things, as do I, so we have an appreciation of the time and effort that has gone into making this little work of art.
It was a lovely gesture and I was very touched.
So back to today and after a very long and painful journey last night my niece Elena, her husband Andy and son Jack finally arrived on holiday staying at the Avanti Village. The flight was delayed and it was a nightmare getting through the airport.
We had organised with them that we would take the Note down to the Avanti so that they would have some transport to be independent and, as it was their wedding anniversary today, we would pick up Mum and bring her so she could see where they were staying and we would all go out for a celebratory meal somewhere nearby as we reckoned that they would be pretty shattered.
We found them! They were indeed somewhat shattered but super happy with their accommodation for which I have to thank Melanie who asked that they have a room with a view of the pool and arranged for some goodies to be put inside on arrival with a lovely note welcoming them. Jack was last here 7 years ago when he was only 2 - boy has he grown. His initial shyness soon melted away and he became animated and engaging before his severely tested batteries gave up!
We chose to walk to Tea for Two which is nearby and I asked our lovely friend Jackie if she could reserve us a table and organise a cake for the anniversary and she did both. We had a lovely family meal together until they were somewhat overcome by tiredness. This was only to be expected and didn't matter to us. We were just glad that they had arrived safe and sound and liked where they were staying and we arranged that they would go and see Mum on Tuesday which will please her no end.
All in all a successful evening save for the fact that whilst we were out John's team were playing Manchester City and even though the Mighty Blades had managed to level the scores they conceded in the dying minutes - such a shame.
