Bargain Shoes

I realise I didn't put up a photograph of my bargain shoes yesterday so here they are - sensible loafer type shoes which should, hopefully, keep my feet try if it is peeing it down in the UK when I go.  I was trying to describe them to JJ&S and said they had sort of "brothel-creeper soles" which then sparked a debate as to why they should be called brothel-creepers - I am guessing it was that shoes with these soles enabled the clientele of brothels to creep in and out unheard which is sort of correct!  According to 'tinty' ...

When British soldiers returned from World War II battlefields, they were ready to let off a little steam. Still wearing their crepe-soled, military-issued boots, they hit the London nightclubs. The shoe soon gained the moniker “brothel creepers.”

John and Stan went down to Marios's par 3 golf course for their first annual Droushia challenge and I took Jackie and Janet down to Polis whilst I had my final GEZY funded physio session with Drs Marios and Socrates.  I was super impressed that when I came to give my contribution to the 9 sessions they could tell me that I had surpassed the maximum €150 annual contribution and so two of my sessions were free - result and even better I have decided to continue once a week for a while and my sessions will be €20.  I collected Jackie and Janet and we came back to ours for a craft session which involved air-dry clay and an attempt to make some Christmas Decorations which we will paint next week.  This proved to be a lot harder than it looks so I think a lot more practice will be required!

This evening the Clan were going to Stathmos and John and I had been invited out to dinner with George and Pam who were celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.  60 years how amazing.  We were so chuffed to be spending such a momentous occasion with them.  They had decided they wanted to eat at Finikas in Polis and John and I said we would drive, John there and me back.  We had a lovely evening although I made an error of judgment asking for a table inside as I was worried that he might get cold.  On the contrary he now feels the heat and so our inside table proved to be ever so slightly tii warm!!!

After a super meal and an all round lovely evening we retired to 11b to crack open the bottle of Prosecco we had given the happy couple and we sat outside enjoying the lovely evening temperature.  It was great that George went and changed back into his shorts immediately!

Many many congratulations to a truly amazing couple and thank you for including us in your celebrations.
