Today being Sunday we were meeting up with Mum for lunch and had decided upon Vardas Seacret because Mum seems to like it there and the Clan had not been. Our difficulty this year with Mum not driving is that we cannot get 6 in the Qashqai so I had asked her to meet us there and use a taxi. We have found her a nice woman taxi driver but apparently Mum didn't like the car she drove - it was too big for her but the lady has apparently now got something smaller so Mum felt more comfortable in whatever it was she arrived in - John was waiting for her and had the code so the taxi could get out of the carpark. We were going to pop her back home and leave the Clan finishing off their drinkies once we had eaten.
This is another lovely venue with great views of the coastline. The Clan seemed impressed. Mum arrived safe and sound and seemed to enjoy having the company plus they do a halloumi starter with chips for Mum which she likes. It was a lovely meal although once again we were all finding it just a little bit to warm for comfort.
This is one of the nicest places to have baby calamari - both Jackie and I chose this and it was really nice. Mum had halloumi with a fig and mint jelly and chips, John had a steak sandwich and Stan had cod and chips - all agreed it was a very nice meal and a very nice location and the staff are lovely.
It was drinkies and nibbles at the Corner House this evening with Lakis and Argy and George and Pam - and it was an amazing evening - warm and still. It was lovely to get everyone together - we are struggling to fulfil all our socialising duties at the moment and George and Pam go home in a couple of days.
