A fabulous Sunday lunch

Sadly I think I have hammered my hiatal hernia over the last few weeks so I have been suffering with excessive heart burn and reflux and disturbed sleep.  I think I will need to go into complete detox once I return from the UK.

When I woke this morning and realised it was Sunday and we were going to The Farmyard in Kathikas for their legendary Sunday Lunch I groaned with disappointment because I was sure I wasn't going to be able to enjoy it as much as I usually do but do you know when I got there and looked at what was on offer I suddenly managed to eat a pretty reasonable meal safe in the knowledge that I was going to pay for it later!!!

John and I went down to Emba to pick up Mum so she could join The Clan and take the opportunity to say her goodbyes.  It must have been a good lunch because I reckon Mum nearly ate more than I did!!!

We had the nice round table in the corner which makes it easier to involve everyone in conversation, well at least those who can hear!!! and we had control of the windows so that we could make sure that those who didn't want a draft didn't have to have one!

All in all a lovely lunch, I was a bit sorry not to be drinking as we realised that The Farmyard stocks the lovely Sterna Xinisteri which we tasted and bought from the winery last week!

We went back to the Corner House for a cuppa before I drove Mum back home to Emba leaving John to spend some time with his Mum before he walked home.  Something got lost in translation as I asked him to phone me if he was walking home so that I went straight there rather than pick him up but he didn't and so I went to the Corner House first!

We then had a nice quiet evening and were looking forward to a bit of a lie-in tomorrow.
