The Clan's annual Cyprus Trip is fast coming to an end. I think the weather knows as it has been indifferent for the past day or so. They, and I, are preparing for their flight to the UK so today they wandered up to ours for a coffee and collected some washing tabs so that they can take everything home clean (providing it doesn't rain and prevent them from getting the washing dry).
The Clan were having the day to themselves - they planned to go to Polis and have a spot of lunch before we went round to help them eat up what is left in the fridge at The Corner House. We were having a day to ourselves getting ready for John being home alone for a few days.
We were desperately in need of some shopping and decided to go and investigate the new-ish supermarket in Polis which is part of the MAS group. This seems to be a sort of co-operative group with independent establishments benefitting from the buying power of a larger umbrella company. It is a lovely little shop. Some things cheaper than Paps, others not and less choice (no butchery) but full of lovely and helpful staff. The fruit and veg were lovely and fresh and well presented - we didn't want a huge amount so decided to get everything there.
There was a good deli counter too and the lady was happy for us to try things and when we chose some ham she kindly pointed out that they had their own MAS version which was nigh on the same but a lot cheaper.
When we got to the till we realised that we had seen about half a dozen staff that we recognised from having previously worked in Paps. We were immediately issued with a loyalty card and left feeling that had been a very pleasant shopping experience, mind you we never mind shopping in Paps so now we have more choice.
We didn't do much more for the remainder of the day save for a bit of gardening to keep it under control. Even though I am not going away for long it will be long enough for some of the vigorous plants to run amok!
We wandered down to the Corner House for our 'eat up supper'. It was nice enough to sit outside (although it is getting much cooler now) and we had our last meal in the Courtyard with The Clan before calling it a day and wandering back home.
