A Full-On Day

Today John and Stan were off to Minthis Hills for the final leg of their Annual Droushia Challenge.  It was a perfect day and John had booked them in for brunch before they played their 18 holes.  Originally we had thought that it was just a bit too expensive but Stan was so keen to go and I emailed the woman that had organised it for us when Stan was 75 and told her that he was soon to celebrate his 80th and she had booked them up with a reasonable tee time.

I was taking Jackie and Janet to the Droushia Heights for lunch and some Spa treatments.  I wasn't having anything done this time.  I would normally opt for the full body scrub but I really wanted my arm to be 100% before someone other than Dr Marios manipulates it!!!

I had noticed that Chris Andre was playing down in Prodromi at the Magic Oak and the entrance was free.  Jackie had said that Stan liked a bit of entertainment so I had booked a table (which was to be outside under the massive oak tree which dominates their outside eating space).

We have never been in the Magic Oak so we had no idea what to expect from the evening but it wasn't far too go to check it out.

The only problem was that Fitos, who is replacing George's doors, wanted access tomorrow morning early and so I had to set an alarm and be up at 6.30am to give him access as we didn't want to leave the gate open overnight nor relinquish the keys to him overnight.  I sure it would have been ok but when you are responsible for someone else's property you are probably a bit over cautious.

Anyway we decided to go and made sure that we had suitable clothes in case it was chilly.  The Magic Oak had even text us to say it might be advisable to have something extra to wear as we would be outside and at this time of year it can get damp.

We were very impressed when we arrived.  Our table was reserved with our name on it.  The chairs had cushions and were reasonably comfortable for village chairs.  There was table service so a super chatty girl came to take our order and we decided to 'double up' so that we didn't have to try and keep getting her attention.  Along with the carafe of wine that we ordered came a dish of nibbles - olives, cheese and some really very very nice salami and we don't normally like salami!

It was quite a pleasant evening weather-wise, quite mild and no damp which was a plus and apparently it was a special evening as they were celebrating the birthday of one of the staff and so we got another plate of food later on!

Everyone seemed to enjoy Chris.  He is a good entertainer.  Maybe not the best singer in the world but a good musician and he even got the Clan up and dancing!

We enjoyed it and John and I would certainly go down again if there was someone performing that we fancied seeing.
