Last night Kaye and I went to the local Italian in the village. It used to be a bank but has now been turned into a swanky eateries called La Stalla. It had been dry enough to walk there and was still dry enough when we came to walk back. It was a pleasant evening and the food was good. Looking at how much prices have increased in Cyprus it pains me to say that food and eating out in the UK appears to be cheaper and there is so much choice. This is not true of everything of course and on balance I think we still make our money go further in good old Droushia.
Today we were getting ready for the family party at Kaye's so cooking and cleaning. Some of the boys were off to play golf but sadly the weather deteriorated and they had to abandon less than half the way round.
Kaye's cat Ned spent a long time just staring as the sky got blacker and blacker before he high--tailed it back inside where he was quite insistent on cleaning my feet for some reason.
I took the opportunity to video call Mum when her great granddaughter Esme arrived so that she felt included in what was going on. Esme will be 2 next week and is a complete chatterbox and it is the first time I have met her as the last time I saw her parents, my nephew and godson Matthew and his wife Loren was when they got married in Dubai and Dad was alive then.
I also got to see Richard's two brothers Clive and Paul and their wives Sharon and Tina and I haven't seen them since Richard's funeral. That's the downside to living so far away.
