In Brum...

So here I am at my sisters.  It's fairly typical autumn weather, grey and a bit drizzly with some bright spells.  Kaye's garden, although she says it neers attention, looks amazing and, although it has been lost in the annals of time, I am proud to think that this was created from a scribbled design I did when I was over looking after Richard when he was poorly.  I had suggested the two circular areas, one grass, one patio and the area at the back separated by the wooden structure.  The summer house is a new addition.

The wedding is on Saturday at Shustoke Barn which is apparently about 20 mins away and we are staying at The Forest of Arden Hotel which will bring back memories as I used to stay there for the Axxia AGM's when I was Chairman of the User Group.  Gish that seems like a lifetime ago.

Tomorrow evening Kaye is hosting a friends and family get together for about 20 people so today I was roped in to help with the catering.  I don't mind really because this is really for her friends and family and whilst I know them all it is only by virtue of the fact that we have met at previous weddings etc.  I shall miss John dreadfully come the wedding as I will feel bit out on a limb.  I hate to think how many similar occasions saw me in one country and him in another.  People assume you get used to it but actually you never do.

We had a bit of a brighter spell in the afternoon so we went for a walk.  People ask if I miss anything from the UK.  Apart from people I do miss landscapes like this with beautiful lush grass and ancient old trees.  You can see that Autumn is starting to take effect with the leaves beginning to fall.

We were going out for a meal at the local Italian this evening.  I will report on that tomorrow.
