Sunday Lunch out...

Today, Sunday, we were going down to pick up Lilian and Mum and taking them out for Sunday Lunch.  I hadn't thought the Railway Inn would have been up Jane and John's street but they were happy to join us too so there were six of us today.  We haven't seen Lilian in ages so it was good to see that she is now without sling and her arm is getting much better, she just needs to get her eye injection frequency sorted and her medication to enable her to return to driving.  We don't mind picking her up, it is hardly out of our way!

When we arrived at the Railway Jane and John were already there.  The Railway is like a typical English Boozer which does a traditional Sunday Lunch - nothing earth shattering but good honest food at a good price but given the choice I would always go for The Farmyard - yes it is a bit more expensive but it is head and shoulders the best place for an English Style Sunday Lunch.  I had a steak and ale pie - I wouldn't order it again.  The meat was tender but there was little to no fluid in the pie.  I think it is fair to say it is a no frills establishment!!!

We all returned to Mum's for a 'cuppa' which threw Mum into a right two and eight!  She craves company and then doesn't seem to be able to cope.

John shot off into the sun room to try and sort out her TV system which she (her words) buggered up not five minutes after I left her on Thursday.  I escaped to the computer room so that I could try and complete the application for renewing her passport which she needs for identification purposes as I doubt she is ever likely to travel anywhere needing one again.

The second photograph I took was accepted - the first declined because she didn't look like she had her eyes open hence she is staring in this one.  The online application process was straight forward enough including the payment so now I need to get to the Post Office to return her old passport and then she should get the new one back shortly afterwards - that is providing her dodgy post arrives.

John and I were keeping half an eye on the England Cricket - what a bloody fiasco that turned out to be - it would appear that the existing world champions (England) will be propping up the bottom of the table - almost as impressive as Sheffield United!!!

A quiet evening saw us finish off watching Bodies which was quite an intriguing series about a dead body which was discovered by four different detectives from four different periods in history.  For once the final episode managed to explain it all without it descending into a farce.
