I am feeling very sorry for myself today, very very snotty, sneezy and snivelling. I managed most of the day at work but had to retire hurt at 4.30 when Gemma declared she had given up saying 'Bless You' everytime I sneezed. I cannot believe it, normally I am so very rarely ill and these last few weeks I have had one thing after another - throat infection, sickness, cold. I think it must be down to an element of stress.
John has been honing his culinary skills today and rustled up a really lovely frittata for tea - well it looked lovely and I am sure it tasted just as good but I have lost my sense of taste so cant tell you for sure! It is an amazing turn round for someone who would have previously turned his nose up at a meal which was basically made from leftovers!
This evening John also managed to get rid of his ladders which he had advertised on Ebay and which was bought by a man who came up from Lyme Regis. They were probably worth a lot more than he paid but it is one more thing we have managed to get rid of.
Whilst I languished on the sofa this evening - tissue permanently clutched to nose - we spent a good hour or so sorting through photographs. We don't want to make the mistake of getting rid of too much but even I had to admit there was little point keeping out of focus or over exposed snaps!!! The trouble with this kind of sorting is that you spend ages reminiscing and saying 'remember when this was taken?' or 'do you recognise who this is or where that was taken?' John was a cool dude as a youngster and if I can get to a scanner at some point I will show you what I mean!!! Our lives have been a catalogue of changing hairstyles - even for John who embraced a Billy Bouffant look for a short period of time. I am still a little unsure of his No1 all over but it is preferable to Billy that's for sure! John insists I go back to Brown or Red - perhaps I will or if money gets really short it will have to be good old pepper and salt - failing that John has offered to give me a No1 at the same time he does his as it will keep the cost of haircuts to a minimum. My friend Sue looks great with her very short hair but I am not convinced I have the head shape for it but who knows??
