A restless restless night's sleep and OMG it is my last Monday at work - my last Monday - how weird does that sound?
Work carries on as normal although I am trying to get my desk tidied of 20 years bits and pieces and to make sure everything is in order before I leave. Things keep cropping up that I have done for so long without thinking and now I have to make sure that someone else can do them or that everything is documented (an idiot's guide - written by an idiot for other idiots!!).
Tommy came into work today with Molls and Freddy before picking up Sal and going on their family holiday to Weymouth, not to see me particularly, but I took the opportunity to see the kids and to give them some money for an ice-cream - I think I am out of touch - John says that I probably should have given them a fiver each!
John came to join me for lunch today as we had arranged to meet Lorna and Dead Eyed Tim (Jim!!). We went to the Green Room and had a nice lunch and catch up. John disappeared half way through and looked like he had stolen a rather nice brand new personal number-plated Merc. He was however being the gentleman that he always is and showing some old duffer how to get to the car park at the back of the restaurant. In fairness it is difficult to find but the speed the guy shot off it isnt surprising that he missed it - and they say that the young one's are the boy racers!!
SF rang this afternoon to tell us that Philippos had been in touch regarding the pool issues and that he was going to be up in Droushia on Thursday and would arrange for someone to have a look at the problem. An electrician is also pitching up so hopefully the problem(s) will be sorted soon. It would be a shame for all SF and TLH's hard work cleaning the pool to be wasted because the pump couldn't run. I know that John is itching to be there so that he can take responsibility for these sorts of issues but we are lucky to have Dad there doing his best for us.
Thursday is an important day because the gas fire is due to be fitted providing that the man isnt 'rushed off his feet' again!! Hopefully Dad will send some photographs so that we can see what it looks like.
John worked his way through his list this afternoon - the walls in the house are bare and we have no lampshades upstairs - the local charity shops are going to benefit from our cast-offs - there is something quite therapeutic about sorting as we do tend to be hoarders and have purchased our fair share of tat over the years - as the Welshers witnessed when we went to the Far East.
Nothing else to report tonight - we are catching up on Corrie Noggie on ITV+1 - it doesnt take much brain power to follow!!
