Four Seasons in One Day...

So after a lovely day yesterday down at Latchi and the walk down to Stathmos last night with the warm wind we woke up to a morning where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.  Bloody Hell we hadn't anticipated this - panic was beginning to set in as we had no bad weather contingency plans.  I text Mum to check what the weather was like in Paphos and she said that it was foggy.  Laura was ever the optimist and was sure that once the sun had burned the cloud off it was going to be hot - we werent so sure!  Sounding like the guys from the Carling advertisement we kept telling one another that it was brightening up!

John was mad enough to tackle a shower outside - I think you can tell from his expression that the water was more than just refreshing!!  He plans to continue to do this for as long as possible - me?  I prefer the privacy and warm of the bathroom!

Irene called in at 9.45 to pick up Chivers to take him for his check up and if he was given a clean bill of health then he was having his first inoculation.  By the time she returned Mum had let us know that the sun was out in Paphos and it was pleasant but windy.  Chivers was given a clean bill of health and so he has to return in a few weeks for his second injection and then around February he can say goodbye to his little gonads!

We decided to go down to Polis to do some shopping and then have a sandwich at the Caravan before heading over to Paphos to checkout the market and then take a walk along the harbour.  As we came down to sea level the weather really improved so by the time we got to Paphos it ws warm but very very windy.  Frozen yoghurt icecreams were the order of the day and in the sunshine it was very very pleasant.  We took a walk along the harbour out to the fort and one of the restaurant touts spoke to Laura and she thought he was some sort of male prostitute who was propositioning her!!

We had visited the market earlier in the day and been to see Rula as Laura wanted to buy a tablecloth and placemats.  As usual Rula did a good deal and although she didnt have six of the placemats there she ordered some in so that they would be there before Laura and Mark go home.  Whilst we were there Mark spotted the bottle covers that look like waistcoats and suggested jokingly that we should dress the cat in one - We were having a good old laugh about it when Rula gave John one of the waistcoats.  We siad that we would take a photo and then Rula could use it as an advertising aid!!!  We think that Chivs has a look of Puss in Boots from Shrek about him - talk about sartorial elegance!!  And dont worry we wont do it again.

John took the view that as the weather was cooler the pool would feel warmer and so we were all persuaded to take a dip.  I think you can tell from Laura's face the water took a bit of getting into and at just 70 degrees it is now rather bracing although once used to it, it did actually feel warm especially if you stood up and let the wind cool you off and then bobbed back down!

It was decided that we would go down to Polis Square for a meal - report on that tomorrow.

Just thought you might like to see how the weather turned itself around during the course of the day...
