The Last Full Day for the Pamments...

So last night Laura and I took on the boys at Poker again - not that we are any good and apparently we are completely unreadable because our game play follows no logic!!  Still it took up most of our evening and provided us with a right old laugh - when I went to bed I think Mark was chip leader.  I can see that John will be giving me some Poker coaching!

This morning we woke to a day that was warm and bright and settled.  John gets up early to be with his boy and to give him some lessons on the laptop by the looks of things.  Not sure what Chivers is doing but it looks like he is double checking his spelling!  He seemed a bit sluggish yesterday and has had a bit of a poorly tummy but this morning he seemed much brighter and more interested in his food- Chivers that is not John!

We decided to go down to the beach for the day but beforehand I needed to give the plants some water.

I was having real trouble getting any water out and then on closer inspection could see why - there was a tree frog in the spout!  I had to gently encourage it to squeeze its way out - the shoulders were the tricky part but once through he was able to hop away!

Having driven along the road out of Latchi by the Anassa Hotel and looking at the various options we decided upon Asprokremnos beach for the day and parked up in the field that Galadia had told us about and walked down the 60-odd steps to find our spot.

We hadnt been to that beach before and it was lovely.  The water was exceptionally clean and much easier to get in and out of than Latchi.

We all had a really relaxing time and stayed on the beach until nearly 5.00pm.  The snorkelling was fantastic and John and I swam through shoals of tiny little coloured fish.  Laura very very nearly went fully into the water!

We saw a group on the beach checking out the turtle nests and we went to speak to them.  They were from an official government department who look at the nests to see how many have hatched successfully (or not as the case may be).

On our return home Mark was mad enough to go into the swimming pool even though the temperature has now dropped below 70 degrees - not only that he was mad enough to follow up with a shower outside!  We were all going off to Yiannis in Kathikas tonight for a special last meal together which turned out to be a treat from the Pamments.  We were all stuffed and had to pass on the cake!

All in all it was a lovely day and we were so pleased that there was at least one full day of sunshine for Mark and Laura to enjoy - you can see from the photo that they look a bit browner now than they did!
