Wii and Wet Weather!

So last night we had to stay inside because there was thunder, lightening and heavy rain so we got the Wii out and the poker set.

I had never realised what a demon Laura is on the Tennis - in fact I have been nursing a muscle injury in my right arm since our challenge!!!  I cant understand how come we have never seen her at Wimbledon!

Without going on about the weather too much it has been pretty shitty for the Pamments and they have been absolutely great about it and such easy company to have staying with us.

I had chosen a recipe from a Greek recipe book I have which we all thought sounded nice so we had Prawn Saganaki with spicy orzo pasta for tea which went down a real treat.  Then we had the Wii and Poker Challenge and Laura and I then waved the white flag and retired to bed leaving Mark and John to slug it out on the poker table.

So today we woke to indifferent weather although we could see that it was better down at the coast.  I promised a photograph of the plants we bought yesterday so this is it.  My euphorbia is on the left ad the two plants that Laura and Mark have bought us are on the right.  We will spend next week doing some gardening and it will be lovely that our garden is filled with things which remind us of our friends.

This morning John decided to take Laura for a spin on the bike - we needed some bits and pieces by way of shopping so it was a good opportunity for them to go out on the bike - I am not sure exactly how much Laura enjoyed herself but John promised me that he would be a knight of the road with Laura on board.

We decided to go down to Latchi for a walk and a drink as we could see that the sun was shining down there - in fact walking along the harbour was absolutely lovely and we enjoyed looking at the boats and the fishermen.  We topped it off with a drink and Laura managed to buy a couple of little presents for her neices before we went back up the hill to Droushia to have a barbeque.

I dont know how many people John and Mark were catering for but needless to say we had a mountain of food.  These prawns were for Laura alone - Trev would have loved them!  We had lamb chops, belly pork, souvlaki, burgers, halloumi, sausages, prawns, corn on the cob, jacket potato, salad and dips and Mum's famous barbeque sauce.

To introduce Mark to the local figs we scrumped some off of the nearby trees and cooked them on the embers in a parcel with brandy, honey and sugar.  They were absolutely lovely.  Another successful meal chez Wiseman!
