Back from Paphos this morning and it has been a calorie laden day!!
Chivers was absolutely fascinated by the smell of the cake and I think if John had let him he would have had a right old go at eating some of it. Still we are not going to encourage him to eat from plates and anyway he is far too young for rich stuff like that - his poor little tum is just about getting used to biscuits.
Trev would be very proud of me as I planted up some little potatoes that started sprouting down at Dad's. I brought the bags over with me and havent had a chance to do anything with them so far so I am hoping that I may have planted early enough that we might have some fresh spuddies at Christmas. We will need to get some more compost to keep covering them up as they begin to grow but it will give me something else to keep me interested. The seeds I ordered to try and grow Mum an Australian Bottle Brush have also arrived. Will still try and buy one with the money Kaye left but apparently they arent available from the Green Forest garden centre at this time of year for some reason.

This afternoon I had booked for Sharon and I to go for High Tea at the Akamas Spa - I wanted to say thank you to her for catching Chivers and then looking after him and administering his injections. I have to say we had a wonderful spread with little posh sandwiches (crusts-off) with egg mayo, cheese & tomato, cucumber and ham (not a bad selection as Sharon is vegetarian). Then there were home made scones with jam and cream (which was almost like clotted but not quite) and then a selection of cakes - chocolate fridge cake, lemon drizzle cake, cheesecake and chocolate truffle. With this we had as many cups of tea as we wanted. We did a valiant attempt at eating it all but gave up on the truffles which we had wrapped up to take home to Sean and John.
We unpacked before collecting Chivers for his daily visit and John decided to have a coffee and to eat up the milopitta (apple cake) that he had bought from Paps a couple of days ago.

He looked rather cheesed off when we told him he wasnt allowed any and sulked on the sofa for a little while!

I would certainly recommend this to anyone as a treat but get in early because once it becomes popular I can see the prices rising! Only €7 per person at the moment!!
