Rain Rain go AWAY...

It was the last of the cat flu injections this morning so Sharon kindly came round to administer the shot.  Irene is collecting Chivers on Monday to take him for a check up and if all ok his first inoculation.  To make up for the trauma of the injection John decided to make him a toy to play with - this cat is going to be so very spoiled!!!

We were getting ready for the arrival of Mark and Laura and the weather has certainly decided to change because this morning we had rain - I was over in one building sorting out the spare bedroom and John was across the way watching the skies - it reminded us of the time earlier in the year when we were having the kitchen fitted and we were painting the bedrooms and we couldnt see the guys in the kitchen because the rain was bucketing down.  At least now we have guttering so you dont get a soaking from the rain coming off the roof!

Nothing looks quite so sad as a swimming pool all covered up and the rain coming down - the water temperature is dropping quickly but hopefully Mark and Laura will be brave enough to give it a try!  Still the clouds were moving across quite quickly so we were hopeful it would blow over as Mum was coming up with Aunty Norm and Uncle Tommy.

We had a visit from Mum's neighbours Mel and Simon this morning.  They live down in Emba during the week but at the weekends escape up to their lovely house in Droushia with their dogs (and sometimes the budgie apparently!).  They had asked us to meet up for a drink but we couldnt manage it this weekend so they came up for coffee.  Mel is obviously a real animal lover and wants a cat but Simon is allergic so she was thrilled to be able to have some time with Chivers who was a complete sweetie and snuggled up to her the whole time they were with us - he was obviously still holding a grudge against John for keeping hold of him whilst his injection was being administered!

Mum and co arrived lunchtime and the weather was beginning to improve although the cloud was sat very firmly up over the hills we could see that it was brighter down in Latchi so we decided to go down to Faros and have a spot of lunch.

It was actually lovely down by the marina and we enjoyed a nice lunch sat in the sunshine.  Despite Uncle Tom's dodgy knee he managed a walk around the marina looking at the boats - I guess once a sailor always a sailor!!!  It's good though because John and Uncle Tom can swap WAFU stories as Tom was in the Fleet Air Arm - in fact Aunty Norm was in the Navy too.

We will all meet up again on Tuesday when it is Marky-Mark's birthday.  We have collected the Pamments safe and sound from Paphos airport - discussion on the rugby is banned (Mark being a Welsher).  They are having a lie-in the morning as we talked well into the small hours catching up on the news.  The sun is shining - thank God!
