As I said before all the surrounding villages managed to cop some rain but Droushia did not. The downpour in Kathikas happened just before Di and Rob and John and I were going for our big night out. It had stopped when we arrived but clearly had been short and sharp and when we were sitting in the courtyard of Imogen's for our supper whenever the air moved we got a shower from raindrops sitting on the leaves of the trees over our heads. John wouldn't have minded quite so much if he hadn't had quite a drastic haircut earlier this morning!!
We were having a Droushian Evening Out and were going to a Prosecco evening at the Kathikas Cafe Bar where Peter Andre's brother Chris Andre was providing the entertainment - we didn't know anything about him but he seems to have a bit of a following here on the island and there was no charge so we had nothing to lose. So to make a night of it we were eating at Imogen's first - good job we booked because shortly after we started eating they were having to turn people away. I opted for lamb kebab on a Greek pitta and it was absolutely delicious but I think both Di and I might regret eating the Muhamarra dip come tomorrow because they didn't hold back on the garlic!!
So a big Thank You to Rachel for reserving us the comfy sofas in the corner which were probably the best seats in the house. The boys did not opt for the Prosecco options but Di and I both sampled a gin/prosecco cocktail before resorting to a favourite Aperol Spritz.

Photos are all a bit grainy because it was dark but I think you can see that we were having a good time. As a singer Chris was not the best I have ever heard but as a musician he was excellent and played a right old eclectic mix of tunes which got people up and dancing.

We agreed that we really should do this a bit more often because it felt like we were on our holibobs. In fact some guy offered to take our photograph all together because I think he thought we were tourists.I am not entirely sure what the residents in Kathikas make of it all but when we left at around 11.30pm I think he was wrapping up and possibly where they position the entertainment the sound doesn't travel to far abroad unlike the music from our festival last week which entertained the whole island until about 2.30am the following morning!!!
It might be nice to have a bar with a bit more life in it in Droushia but then again people living nearby might disagree and it might prompt me (and Clare and Di) to reprise our performance of Temptation!!
We left Kenny in the carpark and got Tassos to come and pick us up and get us home safely - it is the most sensible option and means we can all have a little drinkie without any worries. The thundery weather meant it was an exceptionally hot and sticky night and the dancing and my hormones didn't help - I was soaked but had had a great evening - cheers Besties for a good night.
