We were having a quiet day today - getting the house back together after a visitor, getting washing done, cleaning done and shopping done!!! Tomorrow I have another cousin on the island - my cousin Julie who arrived on Wednesday and is staying in Argaka. Tomorrow we have arranged to meet Mum for lunch and we are taking her with us as a surprise. Sunday, Mum has been invited to a party so we wont be seeing her - she will be celebrating Liz and Bill being on the island for 25 years!
We were pleased to hear from Michelle that she had got back safe and sound and that she had had a brilliant time but was left with a head full of thoughts, ideas, plans and conundrums. We have told her that, irrespective of what she decides for the future she will be welcome to come back for a holiday and I think she will.

We nipped down to Polis to do some shopping and seemed to bump into loads of people we haven't seen for ages one of whom was Eva from C&A Apartments who insisted that we all go for coffee when John's Mum arrives on Sunday and we will do that as they always make us so very welcome and had it not been for their holiday establishment I doubt that John's Mum and Hadge would have come to often. They loved it there in number 5 with the beautiful bougainvillea on the road side and the private little patio area on the pool side. They had really wonderful holidays there and we were all made welcome like a great big extended family and Eva, Nitsa and Charoula were all kind enough to come to Dad's funeral.
We returned to Droushia and checked the post and picked up letters for Klaus and Sheila and Di and Rob so went to both to drop off what we had collected. Bless Di she is suffering from a nasty cold but was out in the garden wielding the biggest garden vac you have ever seen - to say it was industrial sized would be an understatement!!! We didn't stop too long as we had cold and frozen stuff in the car but long enough to catch up and have a chat. Apart from Di's cold they are fine and have visitors coming soon.
We had been contacted by a guy to ask if we knew of any properties for rent in Droushia as his wife has asthma and they are looking for somewhere to live above the humidity line. The only one we know of for sure is the one between Argy and her brother Philip. We couldn't show them inside but we could show them where it was so we had arranged to meet them in the village so that they could follow us and have a look. En route John stopped to give the horse some water and apples and cucumber. I got out of the car to take a photo and the horse thought I had something so set off running and nearly wiped John out!!! She is fast and powerful when she needs to be. Anyway we should the people where the house to rent was and gave them the link to the letting agency - I don't know if it is suitable for them - we have just given them the information - they say they know how cold it can be in the winter which is a start!
We had an evening in and John fancied spare ribs so we a rack in the freezer which needed cooking and coating with the sauce. Normally I would cook them long and slow in the slow cooker but didn't have time so found a recipe where you did them in the pressure cooker for half an hour and then you finished them off by painting with the sauce and putting under a hot grill. I had forgotten that we were to have wedges as well so did the ribs and then did the wedges and left the ribs wrapped up in the over underneath. To say they turned out well is an understatement - this is just half of them - my half!!!
