I understand I have an avid reader who currently lives in Lordos 2
Hello avid reader!!!!
Do you know that it is still dark at 6.30am? The days are certainly getting shorter. Thankfully the sunrise this morning looked a little more promising than yesterday. There was some light cloud and a smear of orange above the mountains. As the day progressed the sun burned off the clouds and we were back to enjoying a fine bright and warm day.
Our plan for today was to get the outside stone clad walls treated with waterproofing - John's job and the wood panelling in the bedroom painted - my job. Thankfully my foot was feeling a bit better today and for most of the painting I would be sitting down so I thought that I should be able to manage it. John said if I was a good girl and pulled my finger out and got finished by lunchtime he would take me out for something to eat.

John was pleased that it had been relatively dry overnight - no rain and very little condensation, the decorating gods must have been looking out for him because it meant that the conditions were right for John to do the waterproofing. He had gone to get the same stuff that the Bobster had used because he was well impressed when Rob poured some water onto his treated crazy paving and saw the water form into droplets. Whatever that stuff was has now been superseded by Nanopro-C and John found the easiest way to administer it was to simply spray it on and watch it absorb - I couldn't wait to do the droplet test and it worked - result!!
I have made some progress with my foot in that today I managed to get my trainers on which did make it easier to walk and was more comfortable than my flip-flops - yesterday it was so painful I couldn't believe it - it has been getting better every day and I hadn't done anything to aggravate the injury so I guess it might just have been the weather.
I got my job done this morning and John raced through his as it proved much easier to administer the waterproofing than he had anticipated so we showered (thankfully today the sun had heated the water unlike yesterday) and set off down to Latchi because I had chosen to have lunch at The Souli. It was much quieter down on the coast than it has been of late - the season is coming to a close and although sunny the sea was pretty rough.
We got a table right by the sea and just took time to take in our surroundings and relax in the warm breeze before ordering our favourite meal here - calamari, salad, garlic bread, chips and olives which were to be washed down with a shandy. It was absolutely delicious - the baby calamari are just melt in your mouth. Even though we only ordered one portion of each between us it was more than enough - in fact we only just managed to finish it - next time we will drop off the garlic bread because they brought toasted village bread with oil and oregano.
We had promised our stalkers Carole and Paul that the next time we went down to The Souli we would ask for the recipe of the apple pie.We collared the waiter Andreas who Carole renamed her Hero after an encounter with a snake who apologised that he was unable to reveal the recipe as the pie was made by a local lady and it was a family secret!!! He did however have a special message for Carole (lovely lady) and a question for Paul - do you still support the same rubbish football team???
Our meal was rounded off with a lovely plate of fresh fruit - melon, apple and Veriko grapes. It was a such an unexpected treat and it was good to have made some progress with our maintenance and DIY. Tomorrow we have the last wall in the bedroom to finish and then that room is DONE and it will be all nice for when Wendy and Bill come and stay.
I will finish the post with a video of the sea today - you can see what I mean about it being a bit choppy!!
