Enjoying time with our No 1 Stalkers...

Very sad to report that we no longer know where the horse is.  She has not been moved, unfortunately on Wednesday a hunter was shooting in the field next to her and she got severely spooked and bolted, breaking her rope and taking off.  We hope she has been reunited with her owners and they have put her somewhere safer.  The hunter should not have been anywhere near her and furthermore was too close to our house.  This is an unfortunate fact of life when you are living in the country and the hunters fail to do so responsibly.  Wednesdays and Sundays we do a head count of the cats, we have had incidents of shot falling into the garden in the past so we cannot be too careful.

Today Wendy and Bill were coming up to see us.  They arrived on the island yesterday and are staying at the Panaretti development not down where all the hotels are in Paphos as that one is being done up but in the second one which is in the Coral Bay area.  They are off to Israel for a few days on Saturday and coming to stay with us for a couple of days the following weekend.  They are our original stalkers.  We met through the blog and nearly eight years ago Wendy got in touch and we met for the first time in Latchi in Faros and we have been friends ever since.  I have to say Mr & Mrs Bailey you really haven't changed a bit over that time!

We decided it would be nice to take a wander down to Latchi and take advantage of the lovely sunshine and have lunch outside on the marina.  We chose Molos and weren't disappointed.  It was gloriously sunny there although you could see dark and threatening clouds in the distance.  We had a table in the sun and nearly regretted not getting a bit of shade.  The food was good too,   John and Andrew (Bill) had pork chops, Wendy had vegetarian lasagne and I had mushroom risotto.

We called back to Droushia for a cuppa before Wendy and Bill made their way back to their accommodation.  They took some time out when they got back to explore an area with which they are unfamiliar.  We think they were walking around the Corallia area from what we could see and it looked really lovely.  It made John and I want to go down to take a look for ourselves - I suggested a romantic evening but John didn't bite my hand off so I am guessing that is a 'no' then!!!  We have, however, decided to go down to the beach one day next week and get a swim in the sea before it gets too cold.  We did it last year and went to Tsakkas and were the only ones there - the waves were pretty powerful so it was quite a challenge getting in and out but very enjoyable too.  Our reward was to go and have some lunch at the Souli afterwards.  Wendy and I were only talking about not making the most of all the beautiful places we have right on our doorstep when you live somewhere.  We are all guilty of it because we sometimes let life get in the way of living!

It was lovely to see Bill and Wendy back on the island.  They have lots of plans for the future.  Their younger son is getting married and will be moving away down to Cornwall if not further in due course.  They have purchased a camper van which they will customise and this will give them the opportunity to explore the UK and Europe in relative comfort.  Bill is keen to be a 'Fox on tour' as he is a Leicester City supporter and he is confident that this season they are destined for bigger and better things - we are sure Wendy is ecstatic about that!!!

Let's hope they have a fabulous time in Israel - their flights too and from Paphos were less than the cost of a couple of cocktails and they are staying in an Air BnB which is a first for them - we are sure they will be fine and that it actually exists!!
