Jane and John arrive...

There is a crisis in Droushia - forget shelves empty of handwash and toilet rolls - this is far more serious - Bobby has run out of Lemon Pickle!!!!!

Panic Not Bobster - I have a secret stash ready and waiting for you and you will get a new jar immediately!!!

Actually there is now real panic surrounding Corona Virus - in the UK shelves are empty of food staples along with the hand wash and toilet rolls mentioned above.  We have been shopping in Paps today and everything was normal and I only bought what I wanted for the next few days but now I am beginning to wonder if I should have got some other things in 'just in case'.  I didn't and I am not unduly bothered about John and I but two of our cats insist on eating nothing but raw liver and I am thinking that might get more difficult to get hold of.  

We had to go to the airport this afternoon to pick up Jane and John.  They managed to arrive just before the Cypriot Government imposed a 2 week self isolation period for people coming in from the UK - we aren't sure how that is to be monitored or whether people coming on their holidays will take any notice but it is going to have a severe impact on the economy here as things shut down.  There is also a ban on gatherings of more than 75 people - not entirely sure why that number has been selected - maybe the local eateries are only licensed to hold numbers less than that.  Anyway Jane and John's flight came in early and the airport was pretty quiet and they were through quickly.  They are staying at the same complex but in a different apartment - all newly refurbished we thought it looked very nice.

We called in quickly to make sure Mum was ok as she had an appointment at the hospital this morning to see the heart specialist - this hasn't been stopped by the restrictions although you would think that this may not be the best place to go under the circumstances.  Anyway she was fine and we will just have to see how things go with regard to going out and about - particularly if John does go to the UK and has to self isolate on his return.  When we got back I made a hot beef salad for our tea which John said was nice but not as nice as the starter he had had on Monday!!!  I shall have to refine this clearly!!!

We got Mark and Laura up for a game of poker.  Laura is John's nemesis as she adopts the Bullshit Baffles Brains approach to playing - so her game is completely unreadable.  She generally manages to wipe the floor with the two boys who shake their heads in disbelief and tonight was no exception!!!
