A little outing for a special person...

The cats have been acting quite strangely this week - certainly not as we would normally expect - Minnie has been missing and this morning Boris was nowhere to be seen.  Boris is always on the sofa in the morning on his blinkie so for him not to be is unnerving under the circumstances.  Chivers seemed to mentor Boris and we think that just maybe Boris is out looking for him.  I woke early and could not settle - Boris always comes to call but not today so I set off in the early morning sunshine trying to find him and trying to be quiet so as not to disturb anyone still sleeping - I was accompanied by Charlie.  Eventually Boris pitched up yelling all the way - I don't know where he had been, I didn't care I was just glad to have him back safe and sound.  Charlie followed me home but Boris decided to hang back and provoke a spat with one of Sharon's cats.  I picked him up and carried him home kicking and screaming.

We were off to do a little shopping in Polis - hoping to get some liver for the cats but no luck and then we were taking a cross country route to Lysos as we have decided to pay for Di and Rob to have an evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast at the Hotel Paradisos.  Poor Di has had a pretty shit year so far and we wanted to give her something really nice for her upcoming (big) birthday.  We headed out through Pelathousa and through beautiful countryside until we got to Lysos.  This for us was a road less traveled, if at all - John seems to think we had done it years ago - I couldn't remember.

We went to the Paradisos years ago when I reckon it had all of about 6 rooms.  It has grown considerably since then but has a quiet rustic charm and is in a fabulous position looking down across a valley to the sea in the distance.

We had organised a present for Di through John's Mum but it is still in the UK and on reflection we felt it wasn't enough to mark the occasion.

We sat out on the terrace overlooking the pool.  It was good to hear that since restrictions had relaxed the hotel was doing ok and I am reckoning that the majority of the people who stay here are from somewhere else on the island anyway.

They were preparing for a christening this weekend and it looked stunning and whilst we were there two families arrived from Akrotiri and they were absolutely blown away by the hotel and the views.

We drove back through Peristerona to get to Goudi so we could see Klaus and Sheila as we had felt unable to do so on Sunday - we spent a very pleasant hour or so with them catching up over a cup of tea and a piece of delicious home made cake.  On our return to Villa 10b we noticed the temperature in the conservatory had risen to over 50 degrees which is extraordinary.  We couldn't really get the temperature down much so a dip in the pool was the order of the day and then a nice quiet evening together sampling the fillet steaks we had purchased from Mammas in the week.  These were fabulous and we would certainly have them again.
