Today we had a glorious morning - rain was forecast for the afternoon which was fine because today I had suggested to Nicky that she and I walk down to Lara and, if the sun was shining we would go for a swim!!! She was up for the first part but not the second but, to be fair, she came prepared. We had a support team in John and Mark although Mark had had to shoot down to Paphos to get a new freezer for 8b but returned in time to accompany John down in the car which was to bring us all home.
John had asked me to keep him informed of our progress and was very impressed when we text in the half way mark which was around six kilometers. As we walked the weather down towards the coast didn't look anything like as good as what we had left behind in Droushia but we were undaunted. Nicky did say that the last couple of kilometers were a real challenge and eleven and a half kilometers almost entirely downhill is quite hard on the knees but we made it!!!
Not only did we make it but we swam in December!!!! and bless John he brought a flask of wobbly coffee for Nicky and I (which we are enjoying on the rocks). Mark had a good old black coffee and John a glass of tonic but he had brought wine and gin and all sorts depending on what we fancied after all that exertion!!!
We returned home and had a shower and then the heavens opened and it was like hurricane Charlie - we decided we needed to toast our success with some drinkies at the Gin Bar and we were lucky enough to get prime seats in the adult bit and Valentina put the gas fire on and put the roaring fire video on the TV screen and we were snug as bugs.
We were so proud of our achievement and then I realised I have another walk to do tomorrow...
