A bit of new normal before it all gets taken away again

This is to be our last 'slightly' restricted Saturday before we have a couple of weeks of lockdown proper - one outing a day for a max 3 hours and extended curfew and only 'essential' items on sale so even in supermarkets loads of shelves will be cordoned off.

It was a golden opportunity for Rachel to let off steam whilst we walked - her life has been thrown into complete turmoil yet again.  We left early as the weather forecast was for it to be hot and I planned a walk down in the valley below where Rachel lives which would have been perfect if a house had not been built across one of the paths (what is it with these people???).

As a result we had to do a bit of a re-route which involved us visiting two photovoltaic installations before finding a way which would lead us back to the start.  It was getting hotter and hotter and Rachel was getting pinker and pinker but had been sensible enough to slap on some Factor 50 at the beginning and had brought it with her.  We have named this walk "FireFry Lane"!!

We are hopeful that we will be able to walk again over the lockdown - we are allowed to go out for exercise in twos but this would use up our one request allowed for the day, plus Rachel has Athos home from school because it is the Easter holidays.  Fingers crossed though because I do enjoy our couple of hours together putting the world to rights!

Today and tomorrow we have three texts per day available to us and we wanted to make the most of our 'freedom'.  The Souli had advertised that they would be reopening their restaurant today - and then will have to close again after tomorrow so we were determined to get down and support them.  We were their first customers and as a result Frixos gave us our first drinks on the house - quipping that the second would cost us double - he was joking!!!  We had a lovely lunch, we were made to feel so very welcome - it is such a shame for them that having waited all this time to reopen they will be forced to shut immediately.

We used the remainder of  our 'pass' to do what we have done for the three previous lockdowns - be the last customers for Philippos in the village and then hopefully the first when he can reopen.  It was glorious in the garden - we just walked in and had a beer and walked back wishing Philippos and his family well during these difficult times.
