Lockdown Looms once again

Sunday - Mum was able to come up and will be able to come up next Sunday in spite of lockdown because it will be Easter Sunday and on Easter Sunday they are granting two texts not one and households can mix.  This will make the two week lockdown a little easier for her and she has invited Lilian to come with her which she has accepted.

We had decided to have something a little different for lunch today - something light and refreshing so we had got some cod loin and we were having baby new potoates in a beurre noisette with baby carrots and green beans and garden peas with the cod baked in white wine and served with a white wine, shallot, lemon and cream reduction and afterwards there was a slice of my banana cake with some cream.

The weather was warm enough for us to sit outside for a drink before lunch and then to have lunch outside in the garden.  The garden was looking at its absolute best - a riot of colour particularly as the poppies are in full bloom.  We have our last coptic at the end of this week and it if it windy I shall lose all the flowers in one fell swoop but will leave them to self seed before pulling out.

I have had my first dip in the pool.  It is currently at 20 degrees which actually isn't too bad and John has got the pool looking pretty sparkling after the recent sand storms - we have decided that we will now start covering the pool at night to try and keep the heat in.

Fingers crossed that the weather will be good over the next two weeks as we will be at home and can get jobs done.  John is planning to finish the potting bench first - he has more than enough tiles to carry the pattern down the sides and got the adhesive he needed and has settled on the colour of the grout.

We are also planning a massive sort out of his shed which we talk about doing and never get round to but there must be loads of stuff in there that never sees the light of day - I think our tent has been wrapped up for about 6 or 7 years and has probably housed a mouse family or two in the interim - we shall soon see!!!

Nicky and Mark popped round this evening whilst they are still able to do so.  Nicky and I will be able to walk in the week but we wont be able to go into one another's houses!!!  The end of a lovely weekend - lockdown looms.
