We are in lockdown yet again

It is Monday and the first day of our new lockdown - the weather is odd - we think it must be the final coptic storm arriving early - it was overcast and muggy and looked like it would rain first thing.  We have one outing allowed a day - we are saving ours to go and do some shopping.

My focus for today was to get our guest bedroom back to something like a guest bedroom.  The bed still had a duvet and throw and flannelette sheets on and if I decide to decamp into there because of John's snoring that will be far too warm for me.  I have had a clear out of my bedding and had earmarked a nice new unused cream embroidered set for in there and when I unfolded it each rectangle was a slightly different colour due to the fact that it had never been used - that has been consigned to the laundry basket for a wash and I had to find another.  I currently had, for a mili-second a clear ironing basket so Charlie took full advantage of the fact and took himself off to sleep in there.

John is still working on my potting bench which is looking far too smart and posh to be covered in compost - I love the tiles - they are perfect and along with the splash back he has completed the tiling of one side and sorted the tiles for the other - it is just a wee bit too hot to work there for extended periods of time and we have the next two weeks at home so there is no rush!!!

We did our shopping - it started with the most important item - a box of wine from Vasilikon to see us through this lockdown and then a quick flit around Papantoniou's and as a treat we called into the Gelateria where John had a double banoffee and I had a single mandarin.  OMG they have slightly changed the mandarin ice-cream in terms of flavour - it is smooth and silky with a real hit of mandarin - the lady told me they make it from their own fruit and squeeze the juice themselves - it is delicious and now my absolute absolute favourite.

Not much else to report on today save for the fact that Mum was a naughty girl and fiddled with her laptop which Richard had to rebuild and as a result installed Windows 10 - we had ascertained yesterday that it was all different and a bit confusing but there was nothing on it she was desperate for save that Aunty Janet is the only person she has to skype (if she wants to see her) so I had thought Mum might wait until I was able to go down to check out skype for her to be able to use but no she decided to try it herself with disastrous consequences!!!!  I managed to unravel what she had done and got skype working but it is very difficult to do that remotely - I shall have to find something like TeamViewer so that I can control her laptop from home.
