Our extended Anniversary celebrations continue and we haven't even reached 'the day' yet but I am not complaining!!! Today we were spending with Mum and Lilian. They were coming up to us and we were off to Molos on the harbour at Latchi for lunch having carefully chosen a nice table at the edge but by the shade and away from speakers and fans! Then we were returning home so that the girlies could go in the pool before drying off and having a cup of tea.
Prior to their arrival we nipped over to see Lakis and Argy to make sure everything was ok in the house or to see if they needed anything as we were going to be busy for the rest of the day. They embarrass us every time they come with a bag of gifts to say "thank you" for looking after their house which we are more than happy to do for no reward. It was a bit like Christmas this morning for both John and I and I was absolutely blown away by the beautiful little handbag that Argy had chosen for me and it was in Sheffield United colours so John approved!!! We cannot thank them enough and no amount of us telling them not to is going to make a blind bit of difference so we must learn to accept graciously.
Mum and Lilian arrived safely and were also bearing gifts which we agreed to open with them today as we will not be seeing Mum tomorrow. We set off for the restaurant and arrived to find that our best laid plans had unraveled. We did not sit at the table we had chosen we were taken to another because some Cypriot radio station had decided to do a live broadcast from the restaurant next door and you couldn't hear yourself think!!! We were uncertain what to do but eventually decided to sit inside for a drink as Costas had told us they should be finished by 1.00pm which fortunately they were so we ate later than we had planned but still managed to have a nice meal although the only trouble with the table we ended up on is that you get a whiff of boat fuel from Latchi Watersports at regular intervals - we hadn't taken that into account!!
We girlies did get into the pool and John's new bit of shade worked as it provided some dappled cover - I am glad that Mum feels able to get into the water again even if she doesn't swim any more - it was a great way to cool down and the temperature was perfect. We rounded off the day with some fresh fruit sat under the gazebo and opened our gifts - it really was like Christmas!
