I had decided to go to Mum's today as I know she has been worried about me. Firstly though we were up early and I was chief hose handler (ooooo Matron!!!)) whilst John stood up on the roof and washed down the panels.
This is about 7.30am in the morning - any later than that it is just too too hot to do anything - as I said I feel exhausted not least because I am in dispute with our health insurance regarding the payment of my tooth treatment and I cannot fathom out why as the policy states it covers ALL dental treatment. I am doing battle with a woke snowflake jobsworth but I WILL win!
We had breakfast and I sorted out what I wanted to get done whilst I was down in the great Metrolops. My first job was to go to the bank and try and organise to get the money out of Mum's account to repay me for paying her tax bill the other week. This shouldn't have been a problem but we now have to bank at the Alpha Bank on the Mesoghi and we don't know any of the staff whereas we knew them all in Polis and they knew us. As I happens the last few times I have been in I have seen the same girl immediately on the left as you go through the dreaded revolving doors. I don't know her name but she is very helpful and she got me sorted really quickly.
I arrived at Mum's feeling absolutely knackered - I don't think I had taken into consideration how much the last week has taken out of me. I can only assume that I looked a state because Mum greeted me by telling me I looked absolutely awful - cheers Mum!
Lilian joined us for lunch - she isn't driving at the moment so Mum picked her up from the Charity Shop where she works and she had lunch with us and then I dropped her off home on my way back. I am so glad Mum and Lilian found each other shortly after they had lost their husbands. They are good for each other.
I made my way home glad that we had sorted out what we were going to be eating this evening as my brain was addled. Sadly our fridge/freezer remains Kaput even though we have done everything we have been told to kick it back into action. Another call to Bullshit Baffles Brains is going to have to take place.
