Too much going wrong...

I don't know if it is the heat or the antibiotics or I swore at a Gypsy at some point but just about everything is falling apart including me.  I have struggled to get Pam and George's villa in shape for Malcolm, Louise and the girls as I cannot find enough decent bed linen to make up the beds and I washed what I could find to freshen it and hung it out on a dirty line with pegs which disintegrated as they were age hardened and so I had to wash it all again and I cannot fathom Pam's machine so it seems to want to keep my washing hostage for hours.  Charlie has an abscess on the base of his tail and looks so sorry for himself love him.  Our health insurance company is quibbling for the first time ever about my claim for my teeth and the bloody fridge freezer isn't working and the man who came that everyone swears by obviously employs the Bullshit Baffles Brains approach to engineering and he didn't actually do anything for his 35 euro call out fee.  Individually I can cope but currently all these things are just getting a bit on top of me.

All of this though has paled into insignificance compared to the trauma of filling in a Passenger Locator Form.  It has made me realise how much older untech savvy people are ignored by society.  My lovely friend Elena's mum Tuire (Elisabet) was flying back to the UK tomorrow and needed her form.  We had tried to sort it yesterday but were thirty minutes too early so the computer said no.  Today we worked our way through only to find that although she is double vaccinated and does not need to isolate on return she has to take a Day Two test along with the PCR test she took on Monday.  The cheapest test I could locate for her was £75 added to the cost of the PCR this turned out to be more than her one way ticket to London.  It was all so complicated and as she said, all she wanted was to go home.  I thought that she was going to collapse in frustration but eventually we managed to get the Day Two test booked and paid for and the Passenger Locator Form completed and printed off - poor Tuire has said she probably will never travel again as it is now so difficult to get from London to Finland (where she was born) and Cyprus - where her marital home was for a while.  I can sympathise - I wont be travelling any time soon the way things are.

My day was complete when we had to empty the fridge freezer and try and find a home for the freezer contents in order to get it defrosted to see if that will kick it into life.  Nothing we have done so far has made any difference, the freezer continues to work as normal but the fridge remains resolutely at around 20 degrees which is bugger all use at the moment.
