We go out for dinner

I cannot believe that I got it wrong about Louise and Malcolm's arrival but in my defense when Louise originally rearranged she told me 7th and I put that in the diary so when she said 8th it didn't occur to me that the day had shifted so we got everything ready for their arrival today and checked departures and flight tracker and then realised that there wasn't a flight today and they would actually be arriving tomorrow.  This is just the cherry on my 'at home to Mr Cock-Up' week that I have endured.

Our Saturday thereafter was generally quiet which is good as we were out for dinner with Lakis and Argy this evening.  There has been a shift in the weather, not quite so searingly hot but a sand in the atmosphere and windy.  We were eating at one of their favourite restaurants Santa Barbara which has tables positioned close to the beach and from here, unlike from Latchi, you can get a sunset.

This is a beautiful spot and although there wasn't a clear sunset it was still pretty spectacular and it was warm without being stuffy and our food and company was top notch save for the fact that we had the usual argument about payment but we have agreed that this is the last time that Argy and Lakis are paying for us but they said they wanted to as a thank you for keeping an eye on the house.

Part way through the meal I had a phone call from Clare who was in a real state about Les who has taken a turn for the worse and she had called an ambulance.  It transpires that he has a chest infection along with everything else that is wrong with him poor man.  We felt sad that we weren't there to help her in her hour of need but there was nothing we could do.

We did not let this spoil our evening - Lakis and Argy were kind enough to say we could leave if we wanted but as we knew there was nothing we could do we stayed and enjoyed the remainder of our meal.  The food really was lovely.
