John and I went for the English and Lakis and Argy for the Cypriot and we sat on the terrace with a lovely breeze coming up from the valley. Yesterday the winery had hosted a massive christening so they were busy trying to get the venue back into some semblance of order.
It was a nice breakfast although I didn't realise that the little pot on my plate was the jam to go with the toast - I used it as an accompaniment to my sausages as it was cranberry jelly I think and the combination worked a treat!!!
So that was a great start to our day which otherwise was reasonably quiet save for saying goodbye to Malcolm and Louise and Alysia as they head off back to the UK. It is always very sad when we come to say goodbye to such lovely friends but we know that we will see them again and hopefully we will see George and Pam as soon as circumstances allow.
There was another large fire today - this time near the home where Argy's mother (and Les) are staying. We started with the yellow spotter planes and then this was followed by the water carrying helicopters. There was another fire near Inea apparently. Once we had said goodbye to the Bennett's we opted for a nice quiet afternoon in the garden. When we are at home the cats like to be with us and we don't have to look too far to find them.
After our very very disappointing pizza at the Brewery last week we had earmarked a home made one for tonight - just a small one as we had cooked breakfast earlier.
Oooo it was lovely - we had some chorizo to use up and some peppers, onions and chili and some stringy cheese and a load of fresh basil and it was perfect.
We had an hour or so of trash TV - particularly trash was an episode of a programme which followed bargain loving Brits living on the Costa Del Sol - there was a lot of beer and bingo going on with a bit of karaoke thrown in for good measure.
We had decided upon an early night - but sadly sleep evaded me.
