I was so grateful that I had to wear a mask last night to go and pick up my takeaway because my face resembled that of John Merrick aka The Elephant Man. I had bumps and swellings everywhere, on my face and in my hair and one of my hands was swollen. This really isn't fun - it might be funny but it isn't fun. Fortunately by this morning it had all settled down which was good because I had arranged a different sort of Sunday with a girlie lunch for Mum and I with Lilian so that John could watch his beloved Blades in peace. The rash might have settled down but I can still see an outline of where they had been because I know where to look. So I am off to see the lovely Dr Manolis tomorrow to get my renewed referral for the cardiologist and to ask him about the 'Return of the Rash'.
We are not sure whether after all this time Charlie is being troubled by the brain injury he sustained when he was knocked over but recently he seems to have nightmares or even daymares when he seems to wake in a panic and starts crying. This morning he did something similar when he was on the bed with John - it was like all the synapsis weren't joined up, maybe it is something like a TIA or similar but for a brief moment it was like he wasn't all there. We snuggled him up in the throw on our bed - bless him we don't think he is going to make very old bones.
So I had arranged to meet Mum at Phil's Bar down in Peyia for lunch and I was picking Lilian up en route so we could have a nice girlie lunch. We all still observe the rules which are in place unlike the tourists that are around. The rules are that you should wear a mask when in a public place so walking from the car to the table and walking from the table to the loo and you should present your safe pass on arrival, only a certain number of people are allowed to sit at a table and the tables should be a certain distance apart. It would appear that Phil makes enough money from all his various enterprises (like Philippos Supermarket) not to be worried about a little fine or two. I don't like wearing a mask but will do so for my own safety and I will abide by the rules. I am also not overly enamoured by staff who take the cash you have put down to pay your bill and assume that any change left over is meant as a tip.
Still we did have a nice lunch together and went back to Lilian's for a cup of tea before Mum headed home and I headed back to Droushia where John was watching the end of the footie - at this point the Mighty Blades were 3-0 up and running rings around Barnsley and then they just seemed to lose the plot and almost lost the game - it ended 3-2 but could have been a disaster.
Lou and Malc went home today. We called round to say our goodbyes. Boy we will miss them - it has been great having them next door but one and it has been great being able to show them a bit more of the area in which we live. We didn't want to be in their face as they had lots they wanted to get sorted during the week which just wasn't long enough for them but they still managed to achieve a lot. We will go in tomorrow and sort out the house and the washing so that everything is packed away.
