Hunters Chicken

Sundays seem to come round quickly but there are only a couple left now when Mum will be able to drive up to us.  I know it is going to be hard for her not driving but looking at her today I know it is the right decision.  She is lucky that there is rarely much traffic on the road between her and us because I doubt her reactions now would be sharp enough to avoid an accident.  She looks tiny behind the wheel.

I was doing her favourite today - Hunters Chicken - not realising that she had had that for her tea yesterday but not one of mine - one from Easy Meals and she always reckons mine is better.  I had ensured that there was enough for her to take a meal home with her along with some Sticky Toffee Pudding.  I have to say that Hunters Chicken is not one of my favourites.  In fact I thought the whole meal looked to orange for my liking!  Still Mum ate it all with relish - I think she may even have eaten more than I did.

It was another glorious day and we were lucky to be able to sit in the warmth of the conservatory heated only by the sun.  We would be absolutely lost without this space because it is much cooler in the lounge.  John had put the heaters on in there so that when we ate Mum would be warm.

Mum has been without WhatsApp on her phone and Skype on her laptop for the last few days so has felt really isolated - it transpires that they didn't 'disappear on their own' she got some sort of message and jabbed at the screen and hey presto all was lost!  I keep telling her that nothing is so important that it cannot wait until I see her.  I reinstated WhatsApp but Skype will have to wait until I go down.  She doesn't believe me that Skype cannot remove itself from her laptop of its own accord.  She then admitted that the central heating is no longer coming on and going off on the programme I had set up and put on for her and hasn't been doing so for some time and she had 'forgotten' to mention it when I was with her on Wednesday.

We were not the only ones enjoying the warmth in the conservatory.  Miss Minnie came out from under the bed to sleep in one of the tub chairs.  She is still causing us concern.  She isn't eating very much and her fur looks sticky again.  We will need to keep an eye on her and speak to the vet about her.  She seems happy enough in herself.

Gail and Pete came round for a drink after Mum had got home safe and sound.  I haven't seen Gail since we went to the Droushia Heights.  She is going back for a quick visit to the UK on Friday.  She is recovering well from her shoulder operation and although she doesn't relish her Physio sessions with Marios she acknowledges the good that they are doing her.

We were amazed that Minnie put in another appearance this evening and decided that she was going to make herself comfortable on Pete's lap.  We always thought that she was very nervous of men particularly after the time when she wouldn't come into the house and then when she did return she ran around on her knees cowering if you went to touch her.  We assumed she had been frightened or hurt by someone.  Anyway she most definitely loves John, Rich and Pete so maybe it was someone female that upset her.

Anyway we had a nice evening - we always have a laugh together and it wasn't a late night because of the dogs although Pete did go and check them and let them out during the course of the evening.  It's too cold for them to leave a door open so that they can come and go as they please.
