My Birthday

 
Today was my 63rd Birthday - really?  I mean really?  How did that happen?  I don't know how old I think I am or how old I feel but there is seriously something wrong with those digits.  I didn't know what to expect from today - it is one of the few days that I, as a control freak, allow John to do whatever he thinks I would enjoy.  

So we started the day with breakfast in bed followed by card opening and present opening.  People are very kind and have clearly got a handle on what I like.  I was humbled by all the lovely messages from all across the world from friends and family, Canada, Australia, South Africa and good old Blighty.

John said he was taking me out for lunch.  During the course of the morning friends and neighbours popped in.  I am not sure I will ever trust them again because they were all in on the 'surprise' which was that John was indeed taking me for lunch, at the winery, and they were coming too!!!

John had booked Tassos to take us in the the mini bus and booked a table at the winery - even though it was a bright day the wind was a bit chilly so we decided to sit indoors.  We had a lovely time, the Droushia massive were out in force!  We have such a lovely group of friends who are also neighbours and there for each other - that is such an amazing feeling after years of us being there in almost splendid isolation.  It was a shame that our other lovely friends and neighbours Lakis and Argy weren't there to join us particuarly as Lakis shares the same birthday as me so Happy Birthday Matey!!! 

We came home to continue the celebrations at 10B - all a bit messy I think - I cannot be sure but we seemed to lose a couple of people on the way.  I know Mark had to return because his electrician had pitched up and Richard waved the white flag relatively early.

I just want to thank everyone, particularly John, for a lovely, lovely birthday.  It way surpassed my expectations and I know I will probably have the world's biggest baggy head tomorrow!
