John spent hours this morning with Malcolm putting up some sails to give 11a some shade particularly as George and Pam arrive on Thursday. It was a hot job but it means that the garden furniture they got from the MarketPlace will be more protected. Malcolm had also splashed out on a coffee table to go with the furniture and they were keen to show it off so after we had been for our traditional "Thank You for All that You Do" meal we were going to check out the changes they have made so far this trip which includes Malcolm painting the garden walls in all this heat.
As it was a Monday we are limited to places to eat so we had suggested Mezhn near the Winery. The food we have had so far has been good and I like the fact that I can order a selection of little dishes rather than a huge plate of food.
The downside is that they only have a couple of young staff who are much more willing than they are able so we booked early and that way didn't have too many issues save for one dish that didn't turn up but it was only a small taster of zucchini fritters. However had you come much later it was beginning to descend into chaos which was a shame. The youngsters were doing their best but were just overwhelmed by the numbers pitching up and as many were not Cypriot, the language barrier.
I would still go again because I know what to expect but I am guessing some people will have been put off by their experience which is a shame.
Back at Lordos 1 we joined Malcolm, Louise and Sophie for a night cap, sitting on the new furniture under the new sails. It is amazing what a big difference this small change has made. The addition of some solar lights finished things of nicely. Malc and Lou are full of ideas how to soften the outside space and I can see that it is going to look stylish when they have done what they can. Siga Siga as they say over here - Slowly Slowly...
