Goodbye 23 - What a Blast...

So the day had come when we were to say goodbye to the 23.  I went off down to Polis for a Physio session and to pick up a little gift for Sally and Cheryl as a reminder of our week together.  I got some sweet little friendship bracelets with an 'evil eye' to watch over them.  They might donate them to their daughters but that's fine.

We had arranged that we would leave at 3.00pm-ish and go to BonaMare for something to eat before catching their flight.  This left them time to go to the cheese factory and for an hour or so to the Droushia Heights Hotel

Cheryl and Frank were having a struggle with their weight allowance and were doing a shuffle when we arrived to pick them up - they managed to reduce it a bit and then were hoping that they could 'share' some of Tommy and Sally's slack - which they did thankfully!

It was lovely when we arrived at BonaMare and the 23 were well impressed that there was such a lovely place to sit and relax before joining the melee that is the airport.  We had plenty of time to have a meal and a final farewell although John and I had already decided to park up and go into the airport with them just in case there were any issues - a short stay is only a euro after all.

The food was very good actually although we were in hysterics with our waitress who was clearly eastern European (probably Russian) and was very abrupt and matter of fact so we didn't dare cross her although actually she did mellow a little and managed the briefest of smiles at one point.

Having ascertained that they had checked in ok we made our way back to the Corner House to have a final clear up and to make sure they hadn't left anything.  Sally had handed us an envelope before they left which we opened at the Corner House - it was a lovely gift to enable us to go and spend some relaxing time together at the Droushia Heights - I have to say we both had a bit of a tear in our eyes as we read the note.

We got a photo sent to us from departures - sad faces all round.

Cyprus 23 it was an absolute blast - knackering but oh so enjoyable.

Until the next time...
