A busy day

Another busy day today - not least because we are taking Derek and Jan to the airport in the early hours of tomorrow morning!!!  My day started with a trip to the post office to post a little parcel off to John's Mum.  I had tried to do it last week but forgot that you have to create a customs declaration online in order to do so.  I got it done and managed to post the package.  I had a nice little walk through the square in Polis into the bargain.  I then went and picked up the hard drive which now contained the contents of my old laptop which had died.  Magic Cornell had managed to retrieve everything of impotance from the old drive and put it on my new drive for all of 40 euros.  I then had a lovely 45 minutes at physio with Marios and Socrates - pleasure pain - but definitely more pleasure than pain now.

It was such a lovely morning that we actually sat outside to have our breakfast.  We have our fingers crossed that the sunshine will continue through Kaye's visit but the forecast shows it becoming increasingly cold and stormy.  A bit of sunshine would be so good for her to set her up for Christmas and make for a better visit.

So we decided that we should go to bed early in the hopes of getting some sleep before the alarm sounded at 2.00am and we had to get up.  So with this in mind we thought we would shoot out to Argaka and grab one of the pizza offers from Mamma Mia and then be in bed by about 8.00pm which should give us a reasonable chance of some sleep.

We called into the Fly Again next door to ask about the Indian food that is cooked there.  Inside I just find that place to be a bit grim and the menu was quite uninspiring and expensive so we decided to shelve that idea for the future.  If anyone has tried it and wants to prove me wrong please do.  I would just feel so cheated if we ate there and it was pants when I could have been eating next door at the Pizza place!  We did have a takeaway from the chef guy when he was at the Koh-in-Noor and he started delivering during lockdown but it wasn't the best Indian we have ever had.

The pizza did not disappoint and we brought home enough to have for a snack tomorrow - we haven't really made any plans for tomorrow in case we are too tired to do anything.

When we returned home Jan and Derek were still working outside even though it was dark.  We took pity on them and made them a cuppa to warm up as the forecast is right in that our temperatures here at night are now regularly down into single figures.  Jan and Derek say they haven't achieved anything like what they had hoped they might but I think they would be surprised just how much they did do.
